About
The team behind Laces.
Laces is event registration and ticketing software, built in Kampala, Uganda by Apta Innovations Limited and founded by Mugisa Brian Cephas, also known as Xephas.
What Laces is
Laces (laces.run, also called Laces Events) is event registration and ticketing software for every kind of event: runs and marathons, charity walks and fundraisers, camps and retreats, workshops and masterclasses, fitness and dance, conferences and summits, concerts and festivals, cycling and bike rides, triathlons, swims and obstacle races, book clubs and book launches, and community events and meetups. Organizers publish an event page, sell entries through mobile money, check participants in at the door, and withdraw their takings once a payment is confirmed. Participants register from the organizer's link, with no app and no account.
Laces works in Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda and Zambia. It is free for organizers: the participant pays a single service fee at checkout, and the organizer receives the ticket price in full. The current figures are on the pricing page, and how it works walks through an event from creation to event day.
