Laces has partnered with Eversend to bring real-time payments and real-time withdrawals to event organizers across East and West Africa.
Attendees can now complete registrations instantly, while organizers can access their funds without waiting for banking hours, settlement batches, or next-business-day processing.
Faster money movement for every event
At Laces, our goal has always been simple: help event organizers focus on creating great experiences, not chasing payments.
As our community grew across multiple countries, it became clear that organizers needed something better than traditional settlement cycles. Waiting until Monday because your event happened on Saturday should not be part of running a successful event.
That is why we have partnered with Eversend, one of Africa’s leading financial infrastructure providers, to power payments and withdrawals on Laces.
With this integration, money now moves in real time, in both directions.
An attendee registers and pays. Their registration is confirmed immediately.
An organizer requests a withdrawal. Their funds are sent immediately.
No overnight batches. No manual reconciliation. No uncertainty.
What changes for organizers?
Instant withdrawals
The biggest improvement is on the withdrawal side.
Previously, withdrawals followed traditional banking timelines. Depending on the day and destination, funds could take hours or even days to arrive.
With Eversend powering payouts, withdrawals are processed in real time. Whether you are receiving money to mobile money or a supported bank account, your payout is no longer tied to banking hours or business days.
Host an event on Saturday morning and access your earnings on Saturday afternoon. That is how event payments should work.
Real-time checkout and registration confirmation
The attendee experience has also become significantly faster.
When someone pays using mobile money, the payment request is sent directly to their handset. Once the transaction is approved, Eversend immediately notifies Laces through a secure webhook.
This means registrations are confirmed against an actual payment result rather than temporary assumptions that need later reconciliation.
For organizers, this reduces payment disputes and eliminates uncertainty around successful registrations. For attendees, it means a smoother checkout experience and instant confirmation.
Built for multiple countries and currencies
Laces was originally designed around a single-country payment rail.
Today, events on Laces attract attendees from multiple African markets, each with different currencies, payment networks, and settlement requirements. The Eversend integration changes that completely.
Attendees can pay using their local currency and preferred mobile money network, while organizers receive payouts in the currency supported within their market.
Supported currencies currently include:
- UGX, Ugandan Shilling
- KES, Kenyan Shilling
- GHS, Ghanaian Cedi
- RWF, Rwandan Franc
- TZS, Tanzanian Shilling
- XAF, Central African CFA Franc
- XOF, West African CFA Franc
- NGN, Nigerian Naira (payouts)
An attendee in Nairobi pays in Kenyan shillings. An attendee in Accra pays in Ghanaian cedis. An organizer receives funds in the supported local currency available within their market.
No unnecessary currency conversions. No complicated settlement processes.
Supported collection corridors
The following mobile money networks are currently available for attendee payments on Laces.
| Country | Currency | Supported networks |
|---|---|---|
| Uganda | UGX | MTN, Airtel |
| Kenya | KES | Safaricom M‑Pesa, Airtel Money |
| Ghana | GHS | MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money |
| Rwanda | RWF | MTN, Airtel |
| Tanzania | TZS | Vodacom M‑Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money |
| Cameroon | XAF | MTN MoMo, Orange Money |
| Côte d’Ivoire | XOF | Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Wave |
Supported withdrawal corridors
Organizers can currently withdraw funds through the following channels:
| Country | Supported withdrawal methods |
|---|---|
| Uganda | Mobile money, bank accounts |
| Kenya | Mobile money, bank accounts |
| Ghana | Mobile money, bank accounts |
| Rwanda | Mobile money |
| Nigeria | Bank accounts |
| Tanzania | Eversend wallet |
One important distinction is Nigeria.
While organizers can withdraw funds directly to Nigerian bank accounts, mobile money collections are not currently supported there. This is exactly why Laces tracks payment capabilities by country, currency, direction, and payment method, rather than maintaining a simple list of supported countries.
The reality is that payments infrastructure differs across markets, and we believe transparency matters.
Verified against live infrastructure
The payment corridors listed above are verified directly against the live Eversend API rather than copied from static documentation.
As payment networks evolve, availability can change. By validating against live infrastructure, Laces ensures organizers see the most accurate picture of what is currently supported.
Pricing remains the same
This partnership improves speed and reliability, but it does not change pricing.
- Laces remains free for organizers.
- Transaction fees continue to be charged to attendees during checkout.
- The first withdrawal for every organization remains free.
The only difference is how quickly money moves. See Taking payments and getting paid for the details.
Building the financial infrastructure for events in Africa
This partnership is more than a payment upgrade.
It is part of our broader mission to build the infrastructure that event organizers across Africa need to operate professional, scalable events.
From registrations and ticketing to payments, withdrawals, attendee communication, analytics, and event operations, Laces is building the tools that help organizers spend less time on administration and more time creating memorable event experiences.
As we continue expanding across the continent, our focus remains the same: making it easier for organizers to launch, manage, and grow successful events, regardless of where they operate.
With Eversend powering real-time payments and withdrawals, that future arrives a little faster.
The terms behind it
Your relationship is with Laces, and those terms are unchanged:
- Terms of Service, the agreement covering organizers and participants
- Privacy Policy, what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted
- Organizer Terms, settlement timing, reserve and refund exposure
- Merchant Service Agreement, onboarding, KYC, settlement and AML obligations
- Refund Policy, how a refund is processed once due
Eversend is the payment infrastructure underneath. Their terms govern that layer:
