# Laces

> Laces is race-registration software built by a company based in Uganda. Organizers publish a race page, sell entries through mobile money, check runners in at the kit tent (which works offline), and withdraw their takings the moment a payment is confirmed, any day of the week. Laces is free for organizers: there is no monthly fee, no listing fee and no per-event charge. The participant pays a single Laces Service Fee of UGX 500 + 2.9% on top of the ticket price at checkout, and the organizer receives the ticket price in full.

Notes for agents reading this site:

- Prices are in Ugandan shillings (UGX) unless a page says otherwise. Laces is operated by a Ugandan company and also collects mobile-money entries in Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania, Cameroon and Côte d'Ivoire; see the Eversend partnership guide for the current corridor list and currencies.
- laces.run is the RUNNER-FACING site: marketing pages, race pages, checkout and order lookup. Organizers manage races, check-in and payouts in the Laces mobile app, which is not part of this site, so a question about the organizer dashboard is not answered by any URL below.
- Checkout (`/pay/*`) and order lookup (`/o/*`) are excluded from robots.txt and are not listed here. Those URLs are capability-scoped: possessing the order code is the authorization, and each one is a single runner's ticket.
- A refund policy shown on an individual race page is that ORGANIZER's policy for that event, and it is not the Laces platform refund policy. Both exist and they are not the same document.

It is NOT a bank and NOT a licensed payment service provider: collection and payout are performed by licensed aggregators, principally Eversend, under their own authorisations. Lists the security controls actually in place, the sub-processors, where data is held (EU Firestore, US Cloud Functions), and, in its own section, what is NOT in place, including that multi-factor authentication is not enforced on sign-in and that data protection registration with the PDPO is still in progress
